i tend to be cautious about bothering cats but I think it’s important to remember that some pretty extreme cat bothering is still within the typical bounds of cat social life

lol yeah

It’s so interesting seeing the reactions from people in other parts of the world. There’s such a powerful disconnect in ways that no one would even think we might be different. We legit need to start posting about random, real stuff and asking if people in other parts of the world do this stuff to. Surely that’s a subreddit somewhere or something.

Additional fact: in many places in the US, even when there is a sidewalk, it’s technically illegal to ride your bike there. If you’re riding a bike, you’re expected to ride in the street and expected to follow similar rules as motor vehicles. Yes, even in very busy locations and places that would be much more dangerous.

And depending on the cop, you may very well be fined if you’re caught riding a bike on a sidewalk.

In some places it’s also technically legal to walk in the street if there’s no sidewalk but you have to be walking the opposite of traffic or else, again, depending on the cop, you can be fined.
